What is Pilates and what does a session include?

Pilates is a method developed by Joseph Pilates in the early 20th century. A typical session focuses on strengthening the core muscles, improving flexibility, posture and breathing — through slow, controlled, precise work. My sessions are mat Pilates — bodyweight and small props, at your home.

Is Pilates suitable for me even without a sports background?

Absolutely. Pilates is suitable for every age and fitness level — beginners, pregnant and postpartum women, those recovering from injury, and seasoned athletes. Each session is tailored to your personal ability, and in the first session we do a short assessment to make sure the practice fits you exactly.

How often a week is recommended?

To feel a noticeable change in your body — strength, flexibility, and improved posture — two to three times a week is recommended. Even a consistent once-a-week practice produces a lasting positive effect. I'll recommend a frequency that fits your lifestyle.

Does Pilates help with back pain?

Yes. Pilates is considered one of the most effective methods for relieving lower and upper back pain. Through strengthening deep core muscles, improving posture, and rebalancing the muscles that support the spine — most clients report significant improvement within 6-8 weeks.

What's the difference between private and group sessions?

In a private session, all the attention is on you — pace, exercises, and challenges are tailored exactly to your body. In a group session (up to 6 participants) personal attention is still there, with a pleasant social dynamic and a more affordable price. Many clients combine both.

What should I wear?

Comfortable clothes that allow free movement — leggings or sports trousers and a fitted top (so I can see how your body is working). Barefoot or non-slip Pilates socks. You can order from me or come with your own non-slip socks.

What about cancellations and changes?

Accepted Answer

You can cancel a session up to 12 hours before without charge. Later cancellations count as a used session. You're always welcome to offer your slot to a friend. Maximum flexibility, while respecting everyone's time.

Where do the sessions take place?

I come to your home in Tel Aviv and central Israel — no commute, no parking hunt. All you need is a free space the size of a mat. Small groups of up to six are possible too.

What happens in the trial session?

The trial session (₪90) is a 30-minute private meeting: a short talk about your goals, any pain and your physical history, a quick posture and movement assessment, a few basic exercises to feel the method — and a recommended plan that fits you.

Can I do Pilates with a herniated disc?

In many cases yes, and tailored Pilates can help — but only after your doctor or physiotherapist approves it. Tell me about the diagnosis when you get in touch, and I'll adapt the exercises carefully and gradually.

What's the difference between Pilates and yoga?

Yoga combines flexibility, breathing and meditation, usually holding poses for a while. Pilates focuses on core strength, posture and movement control, with dynamic, precise exercises. They complement each other, but for back pain and core strength Pilates is more targeted.
